Grace's makeover: One step forward ... one step back?
So last week, we mainly worked like furious little ant workers, and watched Shakespeare. We had tickets for the RSC's Henry VI parts 1, 2 and 3 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. Oh yes, we is hardcore.

When it finished on Friday, we didn't want to start the weekend feeling sad, so we went out with the work massive. Cue cocktail lock-ins, late-night escapades in filthy rock bars and all-night cafes, and getting home when it's light *weg*. Saturday was spent recovering, then out in Dalston to celebrate Mary being pregnant (yay! I can talk about it at last!), then Lisa and I went to Camden and hung out on Sunday, then I came home and dyed Grace's hair.

This week, it's been work, work, fall-over-with-summer-cold. Cue rasping throat, high temperature and 36 hours in bed ... great. I *have* to be back on my feet tomorrow cos we have a critical deadline on Friday (we'll make it with the wind behind us) but gosh, germs, bad timing. ^_~

Anyway, what I'd really like is your opinions on attempt #1 at Grace's dye job:

Next to Moon, to compare the pinkness:

Grace isn't quite sure yet:

It's turned out darker and pinker than I'd envisioned. Specifically, she looks a bit ginger now, which would be fine (I'd dye it carrot red) except that I know there's a Last Kiss B upstairs, tucked away for my birthday, who'll fulfil my hankering for a redhead girl. So I'm wondering: leave her as she is, or try to dye her a darker brown - which is a more risky process. Or another colour? Suggestions?

(Also, I'm a bit gutted, because her hair, style-wise, is lovely now, and I'm thinking that if I'd just washed and straightened it, I'd probably have left it as is. Except I really didn't like her peachy colour, so I know that isn't true.)

Please comment. Even if you don't like it - in fact, especially if you don't. I'm really torn between relief-at-not-having-fucked-it-up and not-quite-what-I-wanted-disappointment, so all comments would be helpful.

I really love it. I think the color came out great, but I also didn't have my heart set on a certain color, so there's nothing for me to feel slightly disappointed about. I dunno, I like it, but if you don't, I'd say go for a different color all together. No point in continuing down a path you already don't like.

I think the color suits her! It goes well with her skintone, and I would definitely call it strawberry blonde rather than out-and-out red. Straightening it was a good call and makes it looks really silky. You did a beautiful job. The only thing I don't like is the visible scalp line; for some reason those make me cringe.

Yeah, she is a little Frankenstein - her scalp's stuck down with temporary glue until I get the colour right. Hopefully, some superglue will make her less scary then ^_^

Her hair is much, much nicer now; I'm just wondering about a sweet mousey brown.

(The other thing I could do, of course, is sell my redhead and dye Grace red.)

My poor Squall gives me the shudders in the wrong light, so it's not just Grace's unglued dome. ^_^

Light brown could work well. The current color gives her a little sass.

(No wai! Last Kiss is too fabulous to sell.)

Does her hair nearly match her eyes? It looks like it in the pictures. I think she looks lovely, *especially* since I like it when their hair matches their eyes. ::nods::

I think it looks lovely on her, but it is what you think that counts. :)

Flickr is blocked by the UAE intarwebs so I can't see her :(

I think she looks lovely! I need to pluck up courage to do a dye job on my own MRB :)
